Love is…Valentine’s Day

For our first blog post of 2014 ~we are really excited to introduce the winners of our

Valentine’s Day Themed Engagement Session Contest ~

Lisette & Dayron

After reading their submission, we knew that this proposal was the one! Here is their winning engagement story submitted by Lisette:

Our engagement story is very peculiar. He surprised me with a trip to Detroit, Michigan [wink, wink] for my birthday. He told me we would spend an entire week there sightseeing and attending a few auto shows, etc. Since I am a huge fan of auto topics, I was partly excited, but I was wary to spend an entire week there, since I didn’t really know a lot about the city. I still thought it was a nice gesture and since I had never visited the city, I continued with the plans. When the day finally arrived, and we landed at the Michigan Airport, we started to walk towards the exit, with the idea to take a cab to our hotel. Since the whole trip was his idea, he had supposedly made all arrangements, and bought all the tickets. I had not looked at any receipts or any other plane or hotel information, so I just followed his lead on things. On our way through the Michigan airport, supposedly to the exit, he stopped for a minute, close to a line forming for an international flight that was departing. With the excuse of having to fix something in his backpack, he opened it, and to my immense surprise, he took out a set of travel guides to PARIS!!!!!!!!! I almost dropped dead!. I was without words and beside myself with excitement! I was elated that “my present” was Paris. Still, at this point, I did not know the real purpose of the trip yet… So, we spent the most magical week in Paris, supposedly my birthday present. The last night there, at midnight, we went over to the Champs Du Mars to see the Eiffel Tower sparkle every quarter to the hour and say our goodbyes to Paris. As the tower was sparkling, at around midnight, he got down in one knee and popped the question!!!!!!!!!!!! Another drop dead moment! awesome feeling….and the funniest thing….it took me completely by surprise. The rest is imaginable, I said YES.

Lisette and Dayron were a blast to work with. This couple was just as romantic and spontaneous in person as their proposal story. Despite the freezing weather, they never lost their energy and were so fun and playful with each other throughout the entire shoot.

The backdrop of their engagement shoot was Beacon Hill and The Boston Commons for a more personalized feel because the couple live on Beacon Hill and work in the area as well. Since we were in the area, we had to pop over to Acorn Street a.k.a the most photographed street in the US and we fell in love ~ the street is so cute.

To include the Love is touch, we incorporated hearts, balloons, confetti, cotton candy and lots of pink. We also wanted to personalize this e-session for them, so we included little mementos of Paris for the couple.
